Miranda Keeling's Illustrated Tweets

Miranda Keeling is an author, actress and film-maker. She posts regular tweets of observations she makes along they way. It's become a trend for inspired artists and illustrators to illustrate these observations.
Here are some of my contributions:
A old rocking horse rests abandoned on the pavement, its glass eyes glinting and its dark orange mane full of December rain. Tweet Post here

Man on his phone on the bus: She said to me I want the dog I said to her you cheated on me and he knows it so he's not talking to you anymore. Tweet post here

A dad in the park tries to interest his little boy in a big new plastic toy car that the boy could sit in but the child is only interested in playing with a stick. tweet post here

The Well of Souls

24/09/18
last week i found myself engaged in some deep discussion about souls and spirits from the subject of mindfulness and energy.
This has been my belief since the moment my tiny baby brain could function, i cant explain why or where, its not been taught, or learned or forced... it just is. Our bodies are merely things for our souls to take physical form in, a soul is everlasting and once it is finished with its body it returns to a large pool of souls (or a well). When its time, it shoots off across the galaxy and finds new life in another form, be it animal, plant, human or even alien (we still dont know whats out there on other planets)

Joey to brother: "You are like a boomerang. you can throw it as far as you can, it will always come back. And if youre not expecting it you end up with an all-mighty concusion!"

To Reach a Star

The journey, the star. Have yet to make a better title
This is almost, or is really, a true story in illustration translation. This girl wants to reach the star, but to get to it she must traverse a rugged landscape and face obstacles. It isn't easy, she is determined to reach that beautiful star - her ultimate goal.
It's not finished yet. I am still trying to figure out how to cross the river....

The Happy Busser

13/09/18 - the happy busser. A retold story knocked up in 20mins on the return journey today! Very messy but like reportage its the tale that makes the illustration. Someone suggested illustrating after i mentioned how much i find buses relaxing and just hop on one because i feel like it. Hopping on this one hoever was a bit more exciting than i anticipated!

Tattoo Design Extra: The Yin and Yang of Roses

Here's one for the flash portfolio.
A huge project it turned out to be, stippled with millions and millions of inky dots!
But for the night owl hours some time each night spent with art is always therapeutic. A suitable subject here to reflect the balance and peace in that time <3

My Imaginary Friend Challenge

Imaginary Friend Drawing Challenge, by Doodle Addicts : https://www.doodleaddicts.com/drawing-challenges/imaginary-friend-challenge/

This imaginary creature is one I plucked and drew straight from my head. He is a large wolf-life beast who is a strong, protective, happy-go-lucky and loyal companion. In My daydreams I can either take the form of this species and take to the skies (female version), or other dreams I climb upon him and together we soar the world on wonderful adventures.
Drawn purely in byro and fineliner.

Illustration Friday - Green (Tea with a hot spicy tang!)

Over the course of several night owl nights.... though not nearly that much in drawing time! A little bit of art therapy each night goes a long way to Illustration Friday :)
Theres nothing special much about green tea, i dont even like tea, but dragons... now they are a different story. So adding my own flair to a simple grassy green cuppa <3

Two Tailless Crows!

Its become a running joke between Nana and I, after seeing a crow in the sky without a tail. Quite an amusing sight that resembles a ... not quite sure what... UFO? Batman?
Anyhows, on another long call this afternoon I caught sight of another and wished she could see what I was seeing, so before getting in the shower on returning home we made a quick pen doodle to show her just that

Four Panel Narrative (from prompts)

29-30/05/18
Making our own little workshop-style activity, making a four panel narrative from prompts.
Each of the four panels has a different prompt/word/phrase - these were found on an online random prompt generator.
The prompts for these four panels were:
Moonlight --- Where the shadow falls --- horror ---- come not in darkness

Bored Pigeon Postcards - The 7 Wonders of the world

This was Dads brilliant idea! ALthough... where are all the Wonders? Turns out they are mostly all defunct, giving our pigeon a good excuse to be bored!
